1400 N.W. Irving Street
The Avenue Lofts has a unique place in our City’s history. Built in 1923 as the Meier & Frank warehouse, it was visited by generations of Portland families. In 2004, Robert Ball converted the former department store warehouse into 166 authentic lofts. The Avenue Lofts has the distinction of being named to the National Register of Historic Places.
The 194 units feature elements of the classic industrial warehouse – concrete columns, extra-large windows and high ceilings – but are updated with elegant birds-eye style maple floors, designer kitchens, stainless steel appliances and European lighting.
The building has many amenities. It offers a fitness center; secure, covered parking; a dramatic open-air atrium; a pedestrian-only street made with Belgian cobblestone; and a historic property tax freeze.
